Matty Takes a Trip
C’mon Matty it’ll be fun. You climb into the laundry chute and I’ll make sure you don’t slide down.”
“I don’t know Charlie.”
“Awww…dont be a chicken. I’ll be your anchor – you won’t go anywhere.”
“You’re sure it’s safe.”
“BukBukBuk…Bukaw!”
“Okay…Jeez!”
Climbing into my friend’s home laundry chute- Matty looked up at me – his eyes full of trust.
Idiot.
You think he would have learned by now.
“Whoopsie!”
I released his hands and Matty disappeared into darkness.
“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
“Crap! I wonder where the dang chute goes?'” I thought racing down the stairs to the Garage.
Silence.
Uh Oh…I think he got stuck.
“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa….
Nope he’s fine.
…aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaau…Uhhh…Ah!”
Lke a fired cannonball Matty shot out of the chute’s exit and landed neatly into a laundry cart.
“Matty! Are you ok?”
“Yeaah…YOU CREEP! YOU LET GO!”
“Sorry.”
“Ummm…Charlie?”
“What?”
“Can I go again?”
